All of a sudden, Jason is Mr. Healthy. His new job covers the expense of his membership at a local gym and now he has work out buddies, he's gone off Coke (the beverage), he's eating ALMONDS for lunch, drinking lots of water...blah...blah...blah. Worst of all, he's doesn't do yummy late night snacking with me!!

One of his healthy "things" right now is drinking these awful juices. This green one boasts having every imaginable fruit but then it sneaks in at the bottom the description things like kale and garlic and dirt and things like that. The above picture actually makes it look BETTER than it truly does. Ugg.
Last night he was putting the pressure on me big time to try some. He was pretty insistent but I just COULD NOT do it. When I looked down into the bottle it looked like baby poop. It did smell pretty fruity but I just could not do it. It was triggering my gag reflex just thinking about it. Sorry honey - there's a whole heck of a lot I'll do for you but this one just doesn't seem necessary (oddly enough on American Idol that weird headband boy sang "I will do anything for love... but I won't do that" I have no idea what that song is talking about but now I at least wonder if a fitness drink was involved).
Desperate to prove to me that the drink does not taste bad, he tries to give it to unsuspecting Pip.

Before it touches her lips she dodges away (and I must point out that she LOVES drinks).

Great face Pippy - my thoughts exactly!!

So, Jason will be looking all healthy and fit and buff and I'll be looking like.... me! SO, either some day in the future I'll be blogging about my new found love for disgusting drinks or I will become a "before" stomach model for those diet adds that are all over my facebook page. :)

Woo hoo! Modeling career, here I come!!
(After viewing this post Jason said I need to make clear that the above picture is not actually me!)

  1. Too funny! I love little Pip's face :)
I've tried a couple of those drinks (not that one) and there's always this hint of good smelling stuff following immediately by something deceiving and not so pleasant!

  2. LOL!!

First of all...I don't beleive you could ever be one of those belly models. You look great!!!!

My dad used to drink this stuff called Barely Green...just thinking about it makes me cringe. It was a powdered substance that you would mix with OJ....YUCK!!

  3. You tell that Jason WAY TO GO!!! I too am a green drink junkie. I make my own smoothies. Here's what they consist of....kale, collards, swiis chard, spinach, blueberries, mango, apple and banana. All the fruit makes it so you can't taste the greens. It's funny because Paul was just like YOU in the beginning. He just heaved at the thought of me drinking all that. But, now I have him drinking them too! I don't drink them every day, for example while I'm typing this, I'm having a bowl of Frosted Flakes with my boys. Yikes.

And the facebook ads!!! Oh my goodness that's hilarious. The worst is the jeans that are TOO low and there is spillover.

  4. Funny. I'm with you, yuck.

My husband,Danny, was on this diet with his office staff during my recent pregnancy. He would make these fat free oatmeal raisin cookies almost every night. Back then I thought they were SO nasty. Now as I shed my prego weight, I LOVE them.

  5. That is funny, Kristi!! I don't think I could drink thate, either. The first picture of your hubby is hilarious!!! He looks so proud of himself.

  6. David and I drink the "green" every morning - we like it.

    Jack Leahy

  7. Don't judge the green patrol! I love the concept of greens, but the taste of much is yes, gross. I do NOT like that brand. I've tried a million of them. The only one I like is a cacao version made from the company Amazing Grass. Tell Jason to try this one.

  8. You could just try and drink it each day...the gag reflex may still work to a weight loss advantage if you are throwing up everynight...

    You crack me up!

  9. excellent! I've been juicing almost every morning... beet, carrot and cucumber most of the time. Yum!

  10. don't worry, fitness kicks don't usually last more than a few days.

  11. I bought two of those "Naked" juices yesterday, the first one was tolerable, they second one tasted like Sandpaper.

  12. The key to drinking juice is juicing your own. It is more time consuming but not only does it taste better but is MUCH more healthy for you if it is fresh (the goodies start breaking down over time as it sits). And if you get a good juicer (we have the Jack LaLane, which is good but not super expensive) it makes juicing easier . . . clean up is still a PITA though.

If Jason wants more healthy drinks tell him to google 'kefir'. Then e-mail me for more info, LOL!! (I am a kefir freak, I brew it in water and milk on the counter daily, the kids love it with juice).
