My precious friend, Tiffany gave me this book for my birthday...
I've started trying to bake through it a little. Not truly dedicated like a Julie and Julia sort of thing - just the ones that interest me.
LOVED these - brown sugar pound cake and brown butter icing...
But I've decided you could coat cardboard with brown butter icing and it would be fabulous.

Last weekend I tried these Boston Cream Pie cupcakes...
Not really a fan. I tried her pastry cream recipe and it bombed. Big time. So I made my own. I made the mistake of taking these to a cook out without trying them myself first. Ugh. Tried them once we got home and didn't like them at all. The cake was too dense for my taste and lacked flavor. The good part about that means I didn't try to eat all 7 that were left over (not that i would EVER do such a thing - hehehe).
Next up - lemon cupcakes with lemon curd filling. Hope they are amazing.
I LOVE cupcakes... so a book all about them might be a bad idea for me... I think I'd be baking cupcakes all the time!

and... we are still waiting for baby Ethan to come. I'm SO ready and James is very excited to be a big brother. Every day he asks if Ethan is coming today! I will post on FB when the time comes!
