Thinking that financial security and stability were in our future were in the forefronts of our minds as we thought of a seventh baby. God had different plans - and though there were some rough days in the uncertainty, that has passed and we still have this precious nugget. Financial "security" may never be in our future - and what is that anyway?? Our security is in Christ. Our stability comes from "the Rock that is higher than I."
It's a good thing that He is control and not us. Proverbs 16:9 tells us "the heart of a man plans his way but the LORD establishes his steps." How's that for security?! And even when the steps He has established for us are not what we were wanting we can trust in His great love for us that He is working for our good... to be made more like Christ.Thank you Father for sweet Piper Elizabeth - she has bean a means of grace to both Jason and me. We see Your loving hand in the giving of her to us and she reminds us that we are being held in your powerful, loving hands.
We love Pip too, such a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteFinancial Security, ha, if any thing this current financial mess just proves to me that only ONE is sovereign and in control, and it is certainly not me. I find peace and comfort in that fact alone.
What a cutie Pie! I love her name too. Great Post Kristi. We've been trying to really helP our boys feel secure in the fact that they have God and their family. Other than that....what do they need? Will has worn hand me downs his whole life (and Wesley for that matter) and he doesn't know any different. I watched them one time as we were in the mall, it was like they had a lightbulb moment..."so this is where clothes come from??"
ReplyDeleteTimes like this helP us cling to God and our families. And, boy you're right...don't we aPPreciate them so much more when our PersPectives change???
