Let's Go Fly A Kite
There is a reason that the song "Oklahoma" mentions the wind sweeping down the plains. It is WINDY here. A lot. SO, we had a picnic with our friends, the Mclaurins, and flew kites. The kids loved it. So did the adults.
Piper was like the kite whisperer. She could her kite up faster and higher than anyone else. It was pretty funny.
Everyone had to fight with the wind to find success. Wind is good for kite flying but too much wind makes it difficult. Go figure.
Wilson is chasing one that got caught in a tree...
Finally - WAY up there!
It was a fun way to spend a Friday evening with great friends.

midwest wind is something to be reckoned with. We bought a kite last spring. First day we flew it the wind was so strong and soon it was tangled in a tree....kite flying over...in fact the kite is still in that tree!
