We have been unemployed for over 2 months now. We had no money in savings. We have a mortgage and all the usual bills. We have 7 kids. We should be scared. We should be headed towards bankruptcy and a foreclosure. But we are not.
Jason has reminded our kids every night at dinner this week that all of the food we are eating has been supplied by the groceries or the money given to us by our FLOCK. We have been given groceries and gift cards and cash. Some gifts have been given in person, some done anonymously. We are so very blessed and humbled and amazed and yet not surprised.
So, thank you to the wonderful members of our FLOCK; those whom we know and those who have given in secret. You have blessed us - and not just because you have provided for us but because you enable us to teach our kids about what the Body of Christ is supposed to look like. Thank you for being His hands and feet in a very tangible way.
"...and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brothers, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you."
Philemon 1:6-7
I'm so happy to hear that God is continuously providing for your family. What a blessing it is to be surrounded by the church family. I'm continuing to pray for Jason to find something.
ReplyDeleteWe have lived that....so humbling, yet such a blessing. We will continue to pray that the Lord uses each blessing as an opportunity to continue to mold you. What a great opportunity for your children to see God's provision first hand.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a wonderful blessing that you have so many "ravens" around you. I will be praying for your situation. You are a testimony with how you are handling this. What an incredible life lesson your children are learning on the faithfulness of God.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking/praying for you and your family a few days ago as I mopped the floor. I don't know how mopping the floor made you come to my mind????? Thanks for the update and the post. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteWhat an encouragement and you're right about being able to teach your children about fellow believers through this experience. You have such a good outlook and good attitude through this and that will speak the most volumes to your kids. Yes, keep us posted and I'll continue to keep you all in my prayers too.
